Director of Children’s Ministries – Position Description
Reports to: Pastor

Job Summary
In partnership with the Christian Education Committee and committed volunteers, the Director of Children’s Ministries develops, coordinates, directs and grows the church’s children’s ministries program. Key elements of our current children’s ministry that would be overseen by the director are the Sunday school program, enrichment time, vacation bible school, and the Annual Christmas Pageant for school age children and youth. Position requires 20 hours per week.
Essential Functions:
• Develop, plan and support Christian education ministry for children and families including actively engaging in community and congregational outreach. (30%).
• Plan and oversee the children’s Sunday school and Enrichment programs, including curriculum research and selection, volunteer recruitment & coordination, general support and record keeping (25%).
• Plan and implement programming (not on Sunday morning) for elementary school ages, including curriculum research and selection, volunteer recruitment & coordination and general program support and record keeping (25%).
• Coordinate, plan and execute the offering of a quality summer Vacation Bible School program, with volunteer support (15%).
• Provide publicity, delegation, administration, communication with congregation, etc. regarding programs, events, etc. Provide oversight and support of paid childcare staff. Oversight must include communication and support of all FPC-WBL policies and procedures such as but not limited to Sexual Harassment, Reporting Requirements for Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect, and Suspected Substance Abuse (5%).
Qualifications:
• Interest, experience, and gifts in Christian education, and relational skills with children and families.
• A deep faith in Christ, and desire to serve His people in this church and the larger community.
• Ability to plan and implement programs.
• Detail-orientation and good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, and work well with committed lay-leaders and volunteers.
• Valid driver’s license.

Job Description
First Presbyterian Church of White Bear Lake seeks director for all volunteer adult church choir. Excellent organ/piano accompanist(s), and other enthusiastic, volunteer musicians, collaborative work environment and competitive pay. Pastor is very interested in input to hymn selection and ideas to expand or enhace our current music programs. September – May 8+ hours/week. The 25+ member choir sings for worship most Sundays and church holidays.
